The thing I love about being in Chameleon Circuit, and something that a lot of people might disagree with or be infuriated by, is that it’s not necessarily a “band” more than a “project”
Like, we don’t do conventional band stuff - we don’t gig; we don’t really sit in each other’s houses and jam; and though we’d all like to, we’re really bad at putting out music videos
In bands there’s a level of commitment and giving yourself to a greater whole that isn’t there with us, because Chameleon Circuit isn’t comprised of band members who break off to do other stuff - we’re five independent people who all have our own things going on, and when the time is right, come together as friends to collaborate on something we love
But that’s not to say we’re not committed at all! To us, that means all the time we do work together makes everything feel new and exciting and fun! And while it might not be the most consistent or productive way of working, I for one wouldn’t have it any other way :D
